Brainstem
Connects the spinal cord to the remainder of the brain.
Medulla Oblongata
Most inferior portion of the brainstem and is continuous with the spinal cord.
Pons
Immediately superior to the medulla oblongata.
Midbrain
Smallest region of the brainstem.
Diencephalon
In between the brainstem and cerebrum.
Thalamus
Largest part of the diencephalon.
Epithalamus
Small area superior and posterior to the thalamus.
Hypothalamus
Most inferior part of the diencephalon.
Cerebrum
Largest part of the brain.
Frontal Lobe
Control of voluntary motor functions.
Parietal Lobe
Principal center for receiving and consciously perceiving most sensory information.
Occipital Lobe
Receives and perceives visual input.
Temporal Lobe
Involved in olfactory and auditory sensations; plays a role in memory.
