Bradydysrhythmias Flashcards
1
Q
3 cardiac causes of bradydysrhythmias
A
Decreased automaticity
Conduction block
Increased escape rhythms
2
Q
Best pad placement for pacing & why?
A
Anterior - Posterior. Below L nipple & below L scapula for reduced impedance
3
Q
Why no Atropine for wide complex bradycardia?
A
No parasympathetic innervation below AV node, so no point
4
Q
Best arteries to use for checking mechanical capture & why?
A
Femoral or radial - as skeletal muscle movement can affect carotid
5
Q
Give Atropine fast or slow & why?
A
Fast - Atropine at subtherapeutic doses can cause increased bradycardia.
6
Q
How many mg will saturate Atropine receptors?
A
Around 1.8mg - 2.4mg (larger pt = more receptors)
