Brachium Flashcards
Biceps Brachii
Superficial layer of anterior compartment
O: Long Head = Within the Glenohumeral joint of the superior Glenohumeral ligament to the supraglenoid tubercle
Short Head = inferior aspect of the coracoid process of the scapula
I: Radial tuberosity and bicipital aponeurosis
Action: Supination of forearm/ Flexion of elbow/FLX of shoulder
INNE: LH Musculocutaneous (C5, C6, C7)
SH Musculocutaneous C5, C6, C7)
Brachialis
Superficial Layer of Anterior Compartment
O:distal half of anterior humerus
I: coronoid process and tuberosity of ulna
Action: FLX of elbow
INNE: Musculocutaneous (C5, C6 - medial aspect) and Radial (C5,C7 - lateral aspect)
Coracobrachialis
Deep Layer of Anterior Compartment
O: inferior aspect of the coracoid process I: middle third of humerus
Action: FlX Glenohumeral join/ ADD of arm INNE: Musculocutaneous (C5, C6, C7)
Triceps Superficial Layer
Posterior Compartment
O: LH = infraglenoid tubercle of scapula
LatH = Posterior surface of humerus (superior to radial groove)
I: proximal olecranon and deep fascia of forearm
Action: LH = EXT of shoulder/ Steadies humeral head in ABD
LatH = EXT of elbow
INNE: Radial n (C6,C7,C8)
Anconeus
Superficial Layer of Posterior Compartment
O: Lateral epicondyle of humerus
I: Lateral surface of olecranon and superior part of posterior surface of ulna
Action: assists in elbow extension/stabilizes elbow/ABD elbow in pronation
INNE: radial n (C7, C8, T1)
Triceps Deep Layer
Posterior Compartment
O: posterior surface of humerus (inferior to radial groove)
I: Proximal end of olecranon of ulna and fascia of forearm
Action: EXT elbow
INNE: Radial n (C7, C8, T1)
