Erbs-Duchenne palsy
A
Injury to SUPERIOR ROOTS (C5-C6)
Traction injury
Forceful pulling away of head from shoulder
Sensory loss over Lateral Arm
“Waiter’s tip”
- arm adducted - medial rotation - elbow extended - forearm prontaed - wrist/ fingers flexed

Klumpke’s paralysis
A
-Traction injury lower brachial plexus (C8-T1 - inferior portion) -Poor birth position (breech) -Fall from height and grab something to break fall -medial and ulnar lesion - "Claw hand" -thumb in same plane as palm -sensory loss C8-T1 dermatomes -can lead to Horner's

A
- affected side
- Complication to Klumpke’s
- constriction of pupil (MIOSIS)
- drooping eyelid (PTOSIS)
- sweating of face and neck (ANPHDROSIS)
- recession of eyeball into orbit (ENOPHTHALMOS)
