12 of these have experienced prolonged separation from their mother in infancy (in the first 2 years of life)

in control group (non offenders) only 2 had experienced prolonged separation

Bowlby concluded that the effects of MD have caused affectionless and delinquent behaviour amongst the juvenile thieves
