Describe Preterite Simple (preterito)
a single completed action. highlighted main action. has a beginning and an end. used with verbs with time expressions. i.e. a las once de la noche empezo…. or el mes pasado fuimos….
Describe Preterite Imperfect
a habitual action or event something you used to do. background action, time, location of an event. often used with time i.e. todas los dias, cada dia, “siempre comia desayuno” “eran las ocho” & “era la uno” as in “son las ocho” & “es la uno”

Ir: iba, ibas, iba, ibamos, iban Ser: era, eras, era, eramos, eran Ver: veia, veias, veia, veiamos, veian
