Q

Why weren’t women who lived on farms affected by the social change?

A

They still had to look after their children and do work around the farm, such as milking the cows, so the changes didn’t really affect them as they just kept doing what they were doing before.

Q

Why weren’t the wives of labourers affected by the social change?

A

They still had to look after their children and go to work to help support their families, as their husbands’ jobs were very low paid. They did the same as they had always done, so the changes didn’t affect them.

Q

Why weren’t women unable to buy new technologies affected by the social change?

A

New technologies such as vacuum cleaners and mechanical refrigerators improved the lives of many housewives, however, those unable to afford them still had to do everything by hand, so their lives weren’t very affected.
