For 12 year old Elise, life is going downhill. Life with her Uncle Hugh and Aunt Bessie isn’t the way it used to be. She is getting into fights with her best friend Franklin and is getting bullied at school. Franklin is making her look like a baby and is getting her bullied, unaware of it. Annie, Elise’s aunt, has just arrived with her daughter, Ava, who is still a baby. What could be worse? But then- a shiny silver key with her name on it. Was it from her father who passed away years ago?Or from her mother who passed away giving birth to her? She knew it had to belong to one of the eight locked rooms up in her Uncle Hugh’s barn. But that key only would unlock 1 door. Will Elise find all the keys and discover the secrets hidden within her past?
Settingg
Elise lives in a rural area in a small town with her Aunt Bessie and Uncle Hugh. She lives near the deep, dark woods where her and her friend Franklin would play “Knights”, a game that they created when they were younger.
