ἔνθʼ ἄλλοι μὲν πάντες ἐπευφήμησαν Ἀχαιοὶ

Let me not stumble upon you, old man, next to the hollow ships
μή σε γέρον κοίλῃσιν ἐγὼ παρὰ νηυσὶ κιχείω

ἢ νῦν δηθύνοντʼ ἢ ὕστερον αὖτις ἰόντα,

πρίν μιν καὶ γῆρας ἔπεισιν ἡμετέρῳ ἐνὶ οἴκῳ ἐν Ἄργεϊ τηλόθι πάτρης
as she walks to and fro before the loom and serves my bed
ἱστὸν ἐποιχομένην καὶ ἐμὸν λέχος ἀντιόωσαν·
