What is a nutritionist?
Occupation within the nutrition and food science field (without extensive qualifications)
What is a dietician?
Must earn accreditation such as a bachelor’s degree. Must be registered with national recognised bodies
What is a diet?
Food and beverages a person consumes
A special course of food to which a person restricts themselves, either to lose weight or for medical reasons
What is food primarily made up of?
Water and solid nutrients such as carbohydrates, protein, fats, fibre and other nutrients such as vitamins and minerals
What is Nutrition?
The science of applying food to health

What are organic nutrients and name them:
Contain Carbon = Energy Producing
Carbohydrates - Carbon Hydrogen and Oxygen

What are essential nutrients?
Nutrients that the body can not make or produce in sufficient quantities (necessary - need from outside)
What are non essential nutrients?
Nutrients that the body can make sufficient quantities or produce from other nutrients consumed
