Formation of bone
PERIOSTEUM
Thick, fibrous membrane covering the entire external surface of a bone, except for the articular cartilage on the epiphyses
DIPLOE

SYNDESMOSIS JOINT
Fibrous joint in which the opposing surfaces of articulating bones are united by ligaments
