Longer than they are wide
Consist of shaft, which is main part
Example:
Femur, tibia, fibula, humerus, ulna, radius

A
Have a thin shape, extensive surface for muscle attachment
Example:
Cranial bones, sternum, ribs, scapulae

SHORT BONES
A
Approximately cube shaped, length is similar to width/depth/diameter
Example:
Carpal and Tarsal bones

SESAMOID BONES
A
Develop in some tendons in locations where considerable friction, tension and physical stress
Only 1 type present in ALL humans = patella (kneecap)
