17
Q

FLUCTUATING ENGINE OIL PRESSURE

Indications:

  • Engine oil pressure fluctuations at a fixed power setting with or without oil temperature rise or signs of oil leakage.
A
18
Q

IMMEDIATE RESTART IN AUTO CONTROL

If a flameout is quickly recognized, an immediate restart may be attempted if single engine performance is critical.

A
19
Q

IMMEDIATE RESTART IN MANUAL CONTROL

If a flameout is quickly recognized an immediate restart may be attempted if single engine performance is critical.

If engine failure was caused by OTG operation due to overspeed, restart should be done in manual control.

A
20
Q

COMPUTER FREEZE

Indications (Affected Engine):

  • Torque, Ng and PTIT remain static. COMP caption may illuminate.
  • Indications (Other Engine):
  • Torque, Ng and PTIT response is exaggerated for collective lever movements.
A
21
Q

COMPUTER RUNAWAY UP

Indications:

  • Tq split.
  • Initial increase in NR, depending on power demanded. Increase in Ng and PTIT on affected engine which fails to respond to collective movement. Decrease in Ng and PTIT on good engine.
  • With a full runaway up Ng will stabilize at approximately 106%. Irrespective of NR the affected engine Nf will remain married with NR while good engine Nf will stabilize at approximately 102%.
  • COMP caption may illuminate.
A
22
Q

COMPUTER RUNAWAY DOWN

Indications:

  • Tq split.
  • NR may decrease, depending on power demanded.
  • Decrease in Ng and PTIT on affected engine which fails to respond to collective movement. The good engine is taking up the load and may exceed its operating limitations.
  • With a full runaway down Ng stabilizes at flight idle and Nf at approximately 70%.
  • COMP caption may illuminate.
A
23
Q

COLLECTIVE ANTICIPATOR FAILURE

Indications:

  • Torque split.
  • Both engines respond to collective inputs;
    • Collective Steady: Affected engine torque reduced, good engine torque increased.
    • Collective up/down: Affected engine less responsive, good engine more responsive.
A
24
Q

PRI OR AUX HYDRAULIC FAILURES

Indications:

  • PRI HYD P or AUX HYD P illuminated.
  • Pressure gauge indicates less than 1000 PSI.
  • Loss of AFCS if AUX HYD P fails.
A
25
Q

MAJOR FCS / FLYING CONTROLS MALFUNCTION

Indications:

  • Undemanded, rough, erratic or uncontrollable manoeuvres.
A
26
Q

DOUBLE GENERATOR FAILURE

Indications:

  • GEN 1 and GEN 2 captions illuminate.
  • RECT 1 and RECT 2 captions illuminate.
  • All booster PUMP FAILURE warning lights illuminate.
A
27
Q

TOTAL BOOSTER PUMP FAILURE

Indications:

  • All (4) PUMP FAILURE warning lights illuminate. Possible power loss on both engines
