Body Tissues Flashcards
Four primary types of tissues
1.epithelium
2.connective
3.nervous
4.muscle
When the cell split into two identical daughter celss
Mitosis
Chromatin begins to coil condense to form chromosomes
Prophase
The chromosomes line up along the center of the cell
Metaphase
The spindle fibers pull the newly formed chromosomes to opposite poles of the cell
Anaphase
The spindle fibers disappear and cytoplasm divided
Telophase
No require any energy to be expended on the part of the cell
Passive transport
Contain more solute and less water
Hypertonic solution
Fewer solutes and more water
Hypotonic solution
Have same solutes to solvent ratio as cells cause no changes in cell size or shape
Isotonic solution
Process which particles spread region of higher concentration to areas of lower concentration
Diffusion
Some situation such as the blood pressure water and solutes particles are force through membrane
Filtration
Requires the cell to expended energy
Active transport
Two kind of cell
Anima cell
Plant cell- chloroplast, vacuole and cell wall only found
Selectively permeable
Cell membrane
Control center
Nucleus
Power house
Mitochondria
Protein synthesis
Ribosomes
Composed liquid and organelle
Cytoplasm
Liquid only
Cytosol
Nucleus which contains the genetic material
Deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA
Three part about active transport
Solute pumping
Endocytosis
Exocytosis
Involved moving substance against concentration gradient using carrier proteins
Solute pumping
Large particles outside the cell with small membrane called vesicles
Endocytosis
The same process in reverse and us often use to rid the new cells
Exocytosis
Tissue from french word tissue meaning
Woven
The lining covering and glandular tissue of the body
Epithelial tissue
Absord substance in the stomach and small intestine which absorb food into the body
Epithelium
One layer of the cell
Simple epithelial
More than one cell layer
Stratified epithelial
Flattened like fish scale
Squamous
Cube shaped like dice
Cuboidal
Shaped like columns
Columnar
4 types of simple epithelial
Simple squamous epithelium
Simple cuboidal epithelium
Simple columnar epithelium
Pseudostratified columnar epithelium
Esophagus mouth and outer layer of skin
Stratified squamous epithelium
Ducts large glands
Stratified cuboidal and stratified columnar epithelium
Considerable stretching example urinary bladder, ureter and part of unrethra
Transitional epithelium
Most widespread and the most varied of all tissue
Connective tissue
Act like a glue (substance+fiber)
Extracellular matrix
Types of connective tissue
Bone tissue
Cartilage
Dense connective tissue
Loose connective tissue
Blood
Highly specialized to contract or shorten to produce movement
Muscle tissue
3 types of muscle tissue
Skeletal muscle
Cardiac muscle
Smooth muscle
