- Pharynx
- Larynx
- Trachea
- Bronchi
- Lung
- Alveoli
- Diaphragm
What is the function of the lungs?
Allows oxygen in the air to be taken into the body and enabling the body to get rid of carbon dioxide when breathing out.

- Small intestine
- Rectum
What is the function of the digestive system?
It breakdowns food or liquid substances, stores or eliminates waste and absorbs any nutrients.
What is mechanical digestion?
It is the physical act of breaking down food without any chemicals. (chewing)

What is the function of the heart?
Pumps blood throughout of the body and the lungs supplying oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and removes any carbon dioxide or wastes.
What are the different parts of the brain?
- Brain stem
- Cerebellum
- Thalamus
- Cerebrum
- Corpus Callosum
- In the cerebral Cortex, there is the: Frontal lobe, Parietal lobe, Occipital lobe, Temporal lobe
What is the function of the brain?
The brain controls our thoughts, memory, movement, personality, sight, communication, decision making, etc.
What is the brain stems function?
- keeps us breathing, normal body temperature, digestion and improves our alertness.
What is the cerebellum function?
- fine tunes motor actions (like picking up a pen)
What is the function of the thalamus?
- sends signals to the cerebral cortex
What is the function of the cerebrum?
- are the left and right hemispheres
- left is in control of logic
- right is more dependent on creativity
What is the function of the frontal lobe?
- personality
- organisation
- learning ability
- decision making
What is the function of the parietal lobe?
- make sense of our surroundings
What is the function of the occipital lobe?
- have the ability of sight
What is the function of the temporal lobe?
- receives sensory sounds
- comprehend the sounds
What is the function of the pancreas?
Produces enzymes which helps break down food.
What is the function of the liver?
Produces chemicals that detox the body.
What is the function of the gallbladder?
