At first, flattened reddish purple scars

Where are stretch marks on the body
Wherever fat is store - commonly abdomen, thighs, buttocks, hips, upper arms, shoulders back
How are stretch marks formed
Collagen and elastin fibres in dermis torn or damaged scar tissue is formed often through gaining weight, pregnancy or puberty

Lifestyle changes more vitamin c and zinc
Cellulite
Dimpled appearance, found all over body hips, thighs buttocks, upper arms
Two types of cellulite
Hard- lumps under skin, firm, can be painful
Soft- more flexible, spongy, often on people who have lost weight, muscle needs to be firmed
What is cellulite?
Adipose tissue divided into 2 layers of fat cells : superficial layer and deeper layer superficial fibres weaken and fat cells from deeper layer bulge, fibres pull down epidermis creating a rippled effect
Why do women have more cellulite than men?
Women store more fat
Males have more muscles
Males have crisscrossed pattern collagen bands and women have vertical bands.
How is cellulite caused
Estrogen, lifestyle- smoking lack of exercise, tight clothing, poor nutrition
Treatments of cellulite
Endermologie - rolling and suction to manipulate tissue
Liposuction- removal of excess fatty tissue although can make cellulite more pronounced
Light therapy- laser plus suction not permanent
Exfoliation
