Ventral definition
Anterior of the body consist of two cavities, thoracic and abdominopelvic, sparated by the diaphragm.
Thoracic sub cavity
Surrounded by ribs and chest muscles
Two pleural cavities ( the two lungs) and the mediastinum
Abdominopelvic sub cavity
Divides in to the abdominal cavity (stomach, intestines, liver) and the pelvic cavity (bladder, rectum and some reproductive organs.
Dorsal cavity
Located at the prosterior of the body
Two divisons but one continuous cavity
Cranial cavity
Formed by the skull
Contains brain
Spinal cavity
Formed by the vertebrae
Contains spinal cord
