Q

When does diffusion occur?

A
  • When particles of a substance spread out, moving from an area where they are in a higher concentration to an area where they are in lower concentration

Q

How does the process of Gas Exchange begin?

A
  • Lung tissue which is spongy and full of tiny air sacs (alveoli),
  • These sacs are surrounded by capilaries, and oxygen that enters the body through the lungs moves into the body by diffusion

Q

How does Carbon Dioxide leave the body? (GE)

A
  • By diffusion into the air spaces. As one gas is entering the blood stream another is leaving it.
  • This is the process of GE
