Extrapyramidal symptoms
pseudoparkinsonism: Shaking, drooling, rigidity. may appear 1-5 days post med.
Akinesia: impairment in voluntary movement
Akathisia: Continuous fidgeting
Dystonia: Involuntary muscle spasms
Oculogyric crisis: Rolling back of eyes
Tardive dyskinesia: Bizarre face and tongue movements, difficulty swallowing
Phases of the nurse-lient relationship
Preinteraction phase
Orientation phase: becoming acquainted, building trust and rapport
Working phase: maintaining trust and rapport, problem solving. Transference (projecting feelings towards someone else onto the nurse) may occur, as well as countertransference (opposite).
