Describe the 5 step process of blow moulding briefly

A
  1. Thermoplastic is extruded through a die opening to form a hollow closed tube called a parison.
  2. The two sides of the split mould are closed around the parison.
  3. Air is blown in to the parison through the shape of the mould.
  4. The parison inflates to takes the shape of the mould.
  5. The split mould is opened to eject the product.

A

Hollow products with thin walls such as plastic bottles, containers, tubs, fuel tanks
