What LFTs indicate cholestasis?
ALP and GGT
What LFTs indicate hepatocellular damage?

What does an isolated rise in ALP indicate?
Bone related
ALP originates from bone as well as liver. What blood results would indicate that bone is more likely?
- Raised calcium and phosphate
- Normal GGT
Is ALT or AST more liver specific?
ALT
What does an increased ALT:AST ratio indicate?
Chronic liver disease
What does an increased AST:ALT ration indicate?
Cirrhosis and acute alcoholic hepatitis
What should you do if isolate raised AST and no clear cause?
Dip urine as AST released in kidneys and can indicate renal cancer
What is the normal range for platelet count?
140-400 x 10^9/L
What is the normal range for prothrombin time?
10-14 seconds
What is the normal range for sodium?
133-146 mmol/L
