What is lymphocytosis?
It’s a condition in which the number of lymphocytes increases significantly in the blood.
What are the effects of lymphocytosis ?
It can affect the overall composition of the blood and was several implications for the structure and function of key blood components.
How does lymphocytosis affect white blood cells?
The lymphocyte increase can cause an imbalance of while blood cell types.it can reduce the overall effectiveness of the immune system response.
How does lymphocytosis affect red blood cells?
It indirectly affects red blood cells. The elevated lymphocyte count may be associated with certain underlying conditions this can impair red blood cell production this may lead to anaemia.
How does lymphocytosis affect platelets?
Lymphocytosis may affect platelet production in the bone marrow. A decrease in platelet count ( thrombocytopenia) may result in excess bleeding and bruising.in some cases an elevated platelet count can occur. This may lead to abnormal blood clotting and an increased risk of conditions.
How does lymphocytosis affect plasma?
Lymphocytosis doesn’t usually change the volume of plasma but it affects the composition by increasing the concentration of certain immune proteins (antibodies produced by B-cells). This may enhance the body to fight certain infections but may lead to over-activation of the immune system in autoimmune disorders.
What is the overall impact on the blood from lymphocytosis?
All depends on the underlying cause and severity of the condition.it helps the body respond to infections (especially viral infections) but can overwhelm the blood’s ability to maintain balance between its components.
