  • Specialised body fluid that constantly flows throughout body - keeps body functioning
  • composed of plasma with dissolved solutes (55%) and formed elements (45%) and is considered a connective tissue

-More viscous and denser then water

  • slightly alkaline ( ph 7.35- 7.45)
  • Blood temp higher than body by about one degree - (38 degrees)
