Q

The Formed element are?

A

– Erythrocytes (RBC’s, Carry O2, 120 Days life Span)
– Leukocytes (WBC’s, Part of Immune system
– Platelets (Important part of coagulation)

17
Q

Why is it not sub optimal to give clear fluids to a person?

A

The fluids will give a higher blood pressure, but will at the same time reduce the % of hemoglobin.

18
Q

What is homostasis?

A

Vaso spasm: (Vaso = blood vessel)
– A damaged blood vessel constricts and decreases the
blood flow/loss.

Platelet plug formation:
– Platelets adhere (get stuck to) the damaged area and
cover it. Called primary hemostasis

Blood coagulation:
– RBC’s adhere and form a clot. A more secure blood
stopper. Called secondary hemostasis

19
Q

What is the fibrinogen

A
