define plasma
it is mostly made up of water. It transport blood cells, platelets, nutrients, antibodies, hormones and waste produced during cellular respiration
Why are red blood cells biconcave and flexible?
they need to squeeze into small blood vessels like capillaries or turn sharp corners.
Where are blood cells produced?
bone marrow
what is hemoglobin?
a protein found in red blood cells which help transport oxygen and gives them their red colour
What do red blood cells do?
carry oxygen from the lungs and bring co2 back to you lungs
what do platelets do and how?
They help in forming scabs by accumulating in the damaged area of a blood vessel and produce fibrous filaments to help seal the wound
how do people find dna in your blood?
they use white blood cells because they’re the only blood cell with a nucleus
when do the numbers of white blood cells increase?
during an infection
what do white blood cells do?
protect the body, neutralize pathogens and get rid of dead/damaged cells
