Introduction-
Engages the reader and makes references to previous posts.
A blog may document a person’s struggles or accomplishments and may sometimes be emotional or reflective. (Blog posts can be similar to a “personal diary” text with the difference being that a blog is read by others—and it does not start with “Dear Diary.”)
I have often debated what I should study or what university I shoiuld go to. When people ask the question (you recent high-school grads know what the question is), they have this look of expectation on their face, like they’re looking forward to congratulating you, or pretending to congratulate you, while they judge you for going to that university. However, I do not feel that one’s life should be decided based on the university they choose.
TONE: Conversational Tone
- Generally, when the author wants to connect with their audience (for example: in a blog, an advice or opinion article, a speech, or an email or letter), they will often use a conversational tone. It should include subheadings, images/graphics, lists, quotes, data/statistics and callout/boxes
Neutral tone
- They might also use a sarcastic tone, an angry tone or a mocking tone, etc. When they want to speak more formally (for example: in an informative article or in an academic essay, like the ones you will write for the IB), they will often use a more neutral tone.Conclude while making reference to future posts and finish with a rhetorical question.
