A

An act is a part of a play defined by elements such as rising action, climax, and resolution. Shakespeare’s plays have all five acts.

Scenes

A

In a play, acts are subdivided into scenes; each act consists of several scenes. A scene general takes place in the same location.

Lines are the words in the play, the dialouge the actors speak. Lines are not the same as sentences as a line may end before a full stop.
