Typical clinical manifestations of biting insects such as mosquitos
If sensitive: will get immediate localized urticarial papules and plaques that will fade within hours and are replaced by a red papule that lasts for days
Papular urticaria
hypersensitivity bite reactions in children
Flea bite resentation
occur in clusters or groups often on legs or ankles
tiny red dots +/- bite punctums
Myiasis
Invasion of tissue by fly larvae (maggots) forming an abscess like lesion (warble)
Treatment of mosquito bites
Prophylactially: some people use Vit B1/thiamine orally during summer
After bite: paste of 1tsp meat tenderizer and 1tsp water
Common bed bug formal name
Cimex lectularius
