- abortions have health risks to mother
- preventing unwanted pregnancies with education

What are the types of assisted reproduction?
- IVF
- frozen embryo transfer
- intracytoplasmic sperm injection (injecting sperm directly into egg)
What is assisted reproduction?
treatments that can help you get pregnant without having sexual intercourse
What are the pros of assisted reproduction?
-Allows people that chance to have a family
-Given autonomy: patients should have the right to choose to have these treatments
-IVF and embryo screening can prevent genetic diseases and suffering
What are the cons of assisted reproduction?
-In IVF, multiple embryos are created and not all are used
The leftovers can sometimes be destroyed ←non-maleficence (embryos don’t have autonomy)
-Higher risk of atopic pregnancies - implantation occurs somewhere other than the womb, can be fatal for mother
-Each process costs thousands of £ and aren’t even guaranteed to work

- Give arguments
- Conclude and try to explore her concerns (why is she asking for an abortion, anyone forcing her?)
- Give personal opinion
What is the law around abortion in the UK?
abortion is allowed up until 24 weeks of pregnancy. if it is agreed by two doctors that continuing with the pregnancy would cause harm to the mother or child

the termination of a pregnancy so that the child is not born
