• decreased need for sleep
• pressured speech/thought
• distractibility
• psychomotor agitation (increased goal-directed activity)
• excessive involvement in pleasurable activities

Question 2

Hypomanic episode

Answer 2

Abnormal persistent elevated or irritable mood for at least 4d, clearly different from the normal, non-depressed mood

• same Sx as manic but lesser degree
• change in mood & functioning is uncharacteristic (may be slight)
• no psychotic Sx
