What is the BPS?
The BPS model is a framework that analyses and describes behaviour in terms of interaction between biological, psycholigical factors and sociocultural factors.
Breakdown the BPS model
Bio - Physical, chemical and biological processes
Psycho - Cognitive/psycholgoical influences
Social - Influence other people of behaviour; behaviour in social and cultural contexts
Define: biological factors
Genetics, biochemistry, physiological responses, hormones, neurotransmitters, gender differences
Name: Enviromental stressors
- Trauma, abuse neglect
- Relationships - loss turbulences
- Culture
- Physical stressors
- Some people are more vulnerable
Define: Psycho
The cognitive and/or psychological behaviours
Examples of the Psycho (universal and indiviual aspects of humans)

Define: Social
Examines a person’s social enviroment and how these facots influence behaviour.
