Q

What is the lithosphere?

Q

What is the atmosphere?

A

The atmosphere of Earth, the air, is actually made up of combination of chemicals in the air, as well as the way in which the atmosphere creates a barrier between the Earth and the harmful rays of the sun and makes an environment which allows life can thrive

Q

What is the biosphere?

A

The biosphere is the sphere of the earth which includes all organic, living life. Whether this life is on the earth’s surface, in the atmosphere, or below the ground, it is part of the larger biosphere system that makes up life on this planet

Q

List 8 types of biomes and define

A
  1. Grassland - an area of land covered by grass
  2. Tundra - a treeless plain especially of arctic regions
  3. Desert - an area where little precipitation occurs and is mainly covered in sand
  4. Forest (tropical, temperate, boreal) - A forest is an area of land dominated by trees
  5. Aquatic - any biome made of water like freshwater biome or marine
  6. Polar - Polar habitats are located at the very top and very bottom of the Earth and is cold, windy and have a lot of snow and ice
  7. Savanna - a grassy plain in tropical and subtropical regions, with few trees
  8. Freshwater - the fresh water biome is a biome that has less concentration of salt in the water

Q

Biomes vs climate zones

A
