Biology - Sensory System Flashcards
What does the Cornea do?

It does 70% of the fucussing.
It protects the eye from the outside world.
It’s cleaned by tears & aqueous humour

What is the function of the ciliary muscle?

It changes the shape of the lens to focus the eye

Where does focussing happen in the eye?

What does the iris do?

It controls the amount of light entering the eye and able to reach the retina

Place a tick ☑︎ in the box under the diagram of how an eye appears in bright light

Where is the CNS?
*Central Nervous System*
It consists of the brain and the spinal cord

Distinguish between sensory and motor nerves

The Retina

What does the pupil do?

It allows light to strike the retina

What is the pupil of the eye?

It’s the hole in the center of the eye that lets light into the retina

Why does the pupil of the eye appear black?

Because the light is absorbed by the tissues inside the eye.
