Biology- Plants Flashcards
Where does photosynthesis happen?
In the chloroplasts
What is the balanced equation for photosynthesis
6CO2 + 6H2O -> C6H12O6+ 6O2
What is the stamen?
The male part of the plant which produces the pollen (yellow, dust like). (anthers -> tops of stamen, filaments -> bottom part)
What is the carpel?
The female part of the plant which produce fruit once pollination has taken place. The fruit contains seeds. (Carpels. stigma -> top where it gets pollen, style -> pollen travels down, ovary -> where fruit is formed)
What is the difference between hypertonic and hypotonic and what is isotonic?
Hyperonic, high pressure in the cell
Hypotonic, high pressure outside cell
Isotonic, balanced
