What happens during stage 1 of the cell cycle?
A
A copy of each chromosome is made. Cells grow bigger, increase their mass. They replicate exact copies of the dna and chromosomes to get ready to split the cell.

What happens during stage 2 of the cell cycle?
A
Half the chromosomes and other things are pulled onto each end of the dividing cell and the nucleus divides.
