Biology ANIMAL CELLS Flashcards
Name 7 organelles in an Animal Cell?
Mitochondria, Lysosomes, Ribosomes, Vacuole , Cell Membrane, Nucleus, Golgi Body, ER
How is Animal Cells different from plant cells?
Vacuole Size, Chloroplasts, Cell Wall
How is Animal Cells different from fungi cells?
Fungi cells have cell wall made of Chitin while Animal Cells don’t have cell walls.
Why do animal cells not have a cell wall like plant cells?
They need a flexible structure to be able to freely move.
Animal cells store genetic information in the?
Nucleus
What is the function of the cytoskeleton in an animal cell?
To help it hold its shape
Why do animal cells have small vacuoles while plant cells have large vacuoles?
This is as animals dont rely as much on the vacuoles as much as the plants. (Plants store all nutrients there and produce energy there.)
