A

Hypertonic: water inside cell is greater, moves out of cell. this causes cell to shrivel up causing plasmolysis.

Hypotonic: water outside cell is greater, moves into the cell, causing lysis (cell bursts)

Isotonic: water outside is equal to the water inside
