What is the dopamine hypothesis?

A

There are several dopamine pathways in the brain responsible for:

  • Pleasurable reward and motivation
  • Behaviour and cognition
  • Attention
  • Movement

Dopamine neurons are used for regulation attention
If it is disturbed, it may lead to problems with attention, perception and thought
