-Experiment was based off of Vogal and Bogen, who were the og split-brain surgeons
-Patients had this surgery if they had seizures which were not responding to drug or therapy
-The split did not cure epilepsy but made it less severe
-Sperry wanted to see what patients could and couldn’t do, to tell him the roles that the hemispheres of the brain had.
