The variety of different species living in small habitats that is local to you

The variety of species on earth
What is species richness?
A measure of the number of different species in a community
How is species richness worked out?
By taking random samples of a community and counting the number of different species
What is the equation for the index of diversity?
N (N - 1) / n (n - 1)
N = total number of all species
n = total number of organisms in one species
If all individuals in an area are the same species what is the index of diversity?

What does it mean if the index of diversity is high?
The more diverse an area is
