- Adenocarcinoma
- Large cell
- Squamous

What hormone is associated with NSCLC?
A
Parathyroid hormone - removes Ca from bones, increase serum Ca, increase fractures/breaks.
Common in squamous cell lung cancer and cholangiocarcinoma.

What hormones are associated with SCLC?
A
- ADH - decrease urine volume, increase BP, increase Na removal
- ACTH - increase corticosteroids, decrease immune function

When is asbestos exposure a problem?
A
Demolition or refurbishment of old buildings in which asbestos containing products have been used could have resulted in significant exposure to fibre dust. This could be due to sawing, drilling or hammeriing or breathing air contaminated by this activity.

What is asbestosis?
A
Lung fibrosis that follows chronic exposure to asbestos. Extensive thickening and plaque formation in the pleura.
