Rights of persons arrested or detained

  • Has the right to consult a lawyer without delay and be informed of this
  • Has the right to question the validity of the arrest/detainment hy habeas corpus without delay
  • Can refrain from making statement and be informed of that
  • Charged promptly or released
  • Be treated with humanity and respect for their dignity
