- Everyone has the right to be secure against unreasonable search or seizure, whether of the person, property, or correspondence or otherwise

- Everyone has the right to not be arbitrarily arrested or detained

Rights of persons arrested or detained
- Must be told the reason at the time
- Has the right to consult a lawyer without delay and be informed of this
- Has the right to question the validity of the arrest/detainment hy habeas corpus without delay
- Can refrain from making statement and be informed of that
- Charged promptly or released
- Be treated with humanity and respect for their dignity

- Be informed promptly of the nature and reason
- Be released on reasonable conditions unless there is good cause for continued detention

- Adequate time to prepare defence
- Trial by jury if 2+ years imprisonment
