- Right to a jury hearing (enough evidence), right to remain silent (plead the 5th)
- Jury’s decisions must be guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and government must pay fair price before taking over property

Trial rights
- Hear all witnesses, speedy trial, and an attorney are all guaranteed
- place/time of crime must be known

-right to have a civil case just trial, and trial by jury cannot be reexamined

Before/after trial protection
-Protection from cruel and unusual punishment, and prevents judge from demanding excessive bail
