Bible Teach Flashcards
Does God care about you?
God cares about you personally.
1 Peter 5:7
“while YOU throw all YOUR anxiety upon him, because he cares for YOU”
Jehovah wants to instruct us about his ways.
Isaiah 2:2, 3
And it must occur in the final part of the days [that] the mountain of the house of Jehovah will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, and it will certainly be lifted up above the hills; and to it all the nations must stream. And many peoples will certainly go and say: “Come, YOU people, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For out of Zion law will go forth, and the word of Jehovah out of Jerusalem.
Does God have a name?
God’s personal name is Jehovah.
Psalm 83:18
That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah,
You alone are the Most High over all the earth.
God’s personal name is Jehovah.
Psalm 83:18
That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah,
You alone are the Most High over all the earth.
Jehovah invites you to draw close to him.
James 4:8
Draw close to God, and he will draw close to YOU. Cleanse YOUR hands, YOU sinners, and purify YOUR hearts, YOU indecisive ones.
What is God like?
Jehovah is loving, kind, and merciful.
Exodus 34:6
And Jehovah went passing by before his face and declaring: “Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving-kindness and truth
1 John 4:8
He that does not love has not come to know God, because God is love.
1 John 4:16
And we ourselves have come to know and have believed the love that God has in our case.
God is love, and he that remains in love remains in union with God and God remains in union with him.
+ Is God responsible for the trials/challenges/difficulties/bad things we face on Earth?
Is it God’s will?
Can God be blamed?
God cannot be tried, nor does he try anyone.
James 1:13
When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.
+ Can God be unfair/unjust?
Job 34:10-12
Far be it from the [true] God to act wickedly,
And the Almighty to act unjustly!
For [according to] the way earthling man acts he will reward him,
And according to the path of man he will cause it to come upon him.
Yes, for a fact, God himself does not act wickedly,
And the Almighty himself does not pervert judgment.
+ Is Jehovah fair/just?
Jehovah loves justice. He will not leave those who are loyal to him, but will cut off those who are wicked.
Psalm 37:28
For Jehovah is a lover of justice,
And he will not leave his loyal ones.
To time indefinite they will certainly be guarded;
But as for the offspring of the wicked ones, they will indeed be cut off.
+ How does Jehovah feel about badness?
Jehovah feels hurt when he sees humans doing what is bad. When he saw an abundance of badness in the earth, he felt regret that he had made men in earth.
Genesis 6:5, 6
Consequently Jehovah saw that the badness of man was abundant in the earth and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only bad all the time. And Jehovah felt regrets that he had made men in the earth, and he felt hurt at his heart.
+ Can we become close to God?
- Jehovah is near to all those calling upon his name in true faith and righteousness.
Psalm 145:18
Jehovah is near to all those calling upon him,
To all those who call upon him in trueness.
- God made humans able to/feel? the need to seek God, to see whether they would grope (to feel/search about blindly or uncertainly, to feel one’s way as with the hands) for him and actually find him. However, he is actually not far off from each one of us.
- Even as we try to seek God, he is actually not very far from us.
Acts 17:26, 27
And he made out of one [man] every nation of men, to dwell upon the entire surface of the earth, and he decreed the appointed times and the set limits of the dwelling of [men], for them to seek God, if they might grope for him and really find him, although, in fact, he is not far off from each one of us.
This is why Jehovah gave us the Bible.
In what ways is the Bible different from any other book?
The Bible is inspired of God and thus is accurate and reliable.
That is why it is beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, and for disciplining in righteousness.
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness
How can the Bible help you cope with personal problems?
The information found in God’s Word is practical for everyday life.
The Bible can help you cope with personal problems because Jehovah our God is the One teaching us how to benefit ourselves and live our life.
Isaiah 48:17
This is what Jehovah has said, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: “I, Jehovah, am your God, the One teaching you to benefit [yourself], the One causing you to tread in the way in which you should walk.
We may claim to love God, but how we react to what his inspired Word, the Bible, teaches will reveal our true thoughts, even the very intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints and [their] marrow, and [is] able to discern thoughts and intentions of [the] heart.
Why can you trust the prophecies recorded in the Bible?
God’s promises found in the Bible are certain to be fulfilled.
God does not tell lies like humans and he is not like humans that he should feel regret for a mistake/wrongdoing (?). If he has said/spoken it, he will do/carry it out.
Numbers 23:19
God is not a man that he should tell lies, Neither a son of mankind that he should feel regret. Has he himself said it and will he not do it, And has he spoken and will he not carry it out?
Titus 1:2
…upon the basis of a hope of the everlasting life which God, who cannot lie, promised before times long lasting
2 Peter 1:20, 21
For YOU know this first, that no prophecy of Scripture springs from any private interpretation. For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.
Isaiah 44:27-45:2
The One saying to the watery deep, ‘Be evaporated; and all your rivers I shall dry up’; the One saying of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd, and all that I delight in he will completely carry out’…
This is what Jehovah has said to his anointed one, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have taken hold of, to subdue before him nations, so that I may ungird even the hips of kings; to open before him the two-leaved doors, so that even the gates will not be shut: “Before you I myself shall go, and the swells of land I shall straighten out. The copper doors I shall break in pieces, and the iron bars I shall cut down.
After many years, Babylon remains uninhabited today.
Isaiah 13:19-20
And Babylon, the decoration of kingdoms, the beauty of the pride of the Chal·de′ans,+ must become as when God* overthrew Sod′om and Go·mor′rah.+ 20 She will never be inhabited,+ nor will she reside for generation after generation.+
Daniel Chapt 8
Daniel 8:20-22
(An angel (Gabriel) helped Daniel understand what he saw)
The ram that you saw possessing the two horns [stands for] the kings of Me′di·a and Persia. And the hairy he-goat [stands for] the king of Greece; and as for the great horn that was between its eyes, it [stands for] the first king. And that one having been broken, so that there were four that finally stood up instead of it, there are four kingdoms from [his] nation that will stand up, but not with his power.
Daniel 8:27
And as for me, Daniel, I felt exhausted and was made sick for [some] days. Then I got up and did the work of the king; but I kept showing myself numbed on account of the thing seen, and there was nobody understanding [it].

+ How do we know that the Bible is the Word of God?
2 Peter 1:20, 21
For YOU know this first, that no prophecy of Scripture springs from any private interpretation. For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.
1 Thessalonians 2:13
Indeed, that is why we also thank God incessantly, because when YOU received God’s word, which YOU heard from us, YOU accepted it, not as the word of men, but, just as it truthfully is, as the word of God, which is also at work in YOU believers.
Isaiah 40:22
There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth
Job 26:7
Hanging the earth upon nothing

Bible writers were honest and willing to mention their shortcomings (unlike many secular historians).
Moses recorded his serious error for which he was reproved.
Numbers 20:2-6, 12
Now there proved to be no water for the assembly, and they began to congregate themselves against Moses and Aaron. And the people went quarreling with Moses and saying: “If only we had expired when our brothers expired before Jehovah! And why have YOU men brought Jehovah’s congregation into this wilderness for us and our beasts of burden to die there? And why have YOU conducted us up out of Egypt to bring us into this evil place? It is no place of seed and figs and vines and pomegranates, and there is no water to drink.” Then Moses and Aaron came from before the congregation to the entrance of the tent of meeting and fell upon their faces, and Jehovah’s glory began to appear to them…
Later Jehovah said to Moses and Aaron: “Because YOU did not show faith in me to sanctify me before the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore YOU will not bring this congregation into the land that I shall certainly give them.”
The Bible contains many principles about various topics that can be applied in life and that many people can benefit from
Matthew Chapt 5-7
Jesus’ Speech Sermon on the Mount
Example of businessman having his secretary write a letter. The letter contains the businessman’s thoughts and instructions, not the secretary’s. The Bible contains God’s message, not that of the men who wrote it down. If there is an Almighty God who cares about us, would he not have the power to preserve his message to us?
Bible is harmonious and accurate despite it being written by men from all walks of life and time periods. It unfolds God’s purpose.
Will God allow his message to be completely lost? Even different sects can preach at least some Bible truths. But which one is the most accurate is up for you to find. Who is really doing the work of God? Who is really his faithful and discreet slave, giving his people spiritual food at the appropriate time?
Matthew 24:45
Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?
What is God’s purpose for mankind?
God’s purpose to make the earth a paradise will be fulfilled.
Genesis 1:28
Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”
Genesis 2:8, 9
Further, Jehovah God planted a garden in E′den, toward the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed. Thus Jehovah God made to grow out of the ground every tree desirable to one’s sight and good for food and also the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and bad.
Genesis 15
And Jehovah God proceeded to take the man and settle him in the garden of E′den to cultivate it and to take care of it.
Isaiah 45:18, 55:11
For this is what Jehovah has said, the Creator of the heavens, He the [true] God, the Former of the earth and the Maker of it, He the One who firmly established it, who did not create it simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited: “I am Jehovah, and there is no one else.
so my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it.
Isaiah 46:9-11
Remember the first things of a long time ago, that I am the Divine One and there is no other God, nor anyone like me; the One telling from the beginning the finale, and from long ago the things that have not been done; the One saying, ‘My own counsel will stand, and everything that is my delight I shall do’; the One calling from the sunrising a bird of prey, from a distant land the man to execute my counsel. I have even spoken [it]; I shall also bring it in. I have formed [it], I shall also do it.
Psalm 37:29
The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it.
Revelation 21:3, 4
With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
How has God been challenged? How do we know that Satan is the ruler of this world?
Satan now rules this world.
1 John 5:19
We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one.
John 12:31
Now there is a judging of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
Genesis 3:1-5
Now the serpent proved to be the most cautious of all the wild beasts of the field that Jehovah God had made. So it began to say to the woman: “Is it really so that God said YOU must not eat from every tree of the garden?” At this the woman said to the serpent: “Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat. But as for [eating] of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘YOU must not eat from it, no, YOU must not touch it that YOU do not die.’” At this the serpent said to the woman: “YOU positively will not die. For God knows that in the very day of YOUR eating from it YOUR eyes are bound to be opened and YOU are bound to be like God, KNOWING good and bad.”
Devil = Slanderer, Satan = Opposer
Revelation 12:9
So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.
Job 38:4,7
Where did you happen to be when I founded the earth? Tell [me], if you do know understanding.
When the morning stars joyfully cried out together,
And all the sons of God began shouting in applause?
James 1:13-15
When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death.
Proverbs 27:11
Be wise, my son, and make my heart rejoice, that I may make a reply to him that is taunting me.
Jesus did not denied that Satan is the ruler of this world. If Satan was not actually the ruler, he would not have been able to offer Jesus rulership of the world to tempt him. Jesus also pointed to Satan as the ruler of this world. Nowhere in the Bible is it mentioned that Jehovah or Jesus is the ruler of this world.
Matthew 4:8, 9
Again the Devil took him along to an unusually high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, and he said to him: “All these things I will give you if you fall down and do an act of worship to me.”
Luke 4:5, 6
So he brought him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the inhabited earth in an instant of time; 6 and the Devil said to him: “I will give you all this authority and the glory of them, because it has been delivered to me, and to whomever I wish I give it.
John 14:30
I shall not speak much with YOU anymore, for the ruler of the world is coming. And he has no hold on me,
John 16:11
then concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
2 Corinthians 4:3, 4
If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.
