What is framing bias?
When a piece of information is given to you early and you over-evaluate, and miss other important information
What is anchoring bias?
When the probability of a diagnosis is placed far too close to 100%
What is availability bias?
When you recall a recent diagnosis and use that again
What is representativeness bias?
When you ignore how common or how rare a disease actually is
What is blind obedience bias?
Over-reliance on tests, when we know that these tests can be fallible
How can we attempt to avoid error?
Always get the history you need, not the history you are given
Be aware of common biases and causes of error
Examine your patients
