  2. summer (assoc w/ flooding) - soil reservoir
  3. cutaneous
    inhalation: hemorrhagic mediastinits -> rapidly fatal
    ingestion: high mortality, bleed from orifices, seizures
  4. sudden death w/ bleeding from orificies (look for organism on slide)
  5. usually doesn’t work - can try penicllin

  2. supraspinatous bursitis - swelling/draining lesions - hard to resolve
  3. atlantal bursitis - similar but on back of head
  4. abx, debride local lesions
  5. control co-mingling with cattle (plus other normal stuff)

  2. culicoides
  3. fever, vesicles (rupture -> ulcers) in oral cavity, coronary band, and teats, rarely slough hoof
  4. symptomatic
  5. moist valley environments, aerosol/direct contact, STRICT ISOLATION/QUARANTINE
