investigation of cervical ectropion

A
  1. Infection screen/swab to exclude chlamydia and STI
  2. Cervical smear - persistent cervical ectropion tissue is more susceptile to undergo metaplasia to squamous epithelium and then become malignant
    - -> CAUSED BY HPV INFECTION
  3. nabothian cysts - mucus filled cysts on the surface of the cervix, visible on the ectocervix.
