Propaganda lead to the overdramatization of the Maine blowing up and the note calling the politicians stupid and it infuriated the very nationalist country
How did the increased of manufactured goods in US play a role in imperialism?
Needed more people to trade with and had the resources to take over smaller nations
What were the causes of imperialism?
Wanted more places to trade with and the want/need for new military bases
Why did the US go to war with Spain?
Because we were offended by the note and we accused them of sinking our ship

Placed restrictions on Cuba with the US of what they can and can’t do
The big question that came up with the US acquiring new territories was “what rights would the new territories have?” And were they all treated the same?
They were not all treated the same the Filipinos had much more freedoms and rights than the Cubans
Why did the US want a canal across Central America? Did Latin American countries like Panama like our actions?
The US helped the Latin American countries win their independence from the Spanish so they were willing to let us build the canal through their country
