What is Bells palsy?
A
Acute, unilateral, idiopathic facial nerve paralysis

What are the features of bells palsy?
A
Lower motor neurone facial nerve palsy- the forehead is affected
Patients may notice post auricular pain, altered test, dry eyes, hyperacusis

What is the treatment of bells palsy?
A
Oral prednisolone
Eye care- artificial tear production, eye lubricants

What is herpes zoster oticus and what would you treat it with?
A
This is ramsay hunt syndrome
You get a painful vesicular rash as well as facial droop
You often prescribe aciclovir with prednisolone
