This is because they make a SMALLER ANGLE NOW, if make smaller angle, then less tension in the vertical component they need to counter, the smaller you go it just becomes one string pulling which is least tension, the more higher you go the more vertical component you need to counter

Hence as they are symmetrical same tension but less due to SMALLER ANGLE
